3 Quick Weight Loss Shortcuts for Teenagers and Kids

Obesity can strike the lives or anyone whether you are a child, a teenager or an adult. With our modern day "computer-bound" lifestyles, it isn't hard to understand why so many children are overweight. I'm going to outline 3 quick weight loss shortcuts for growing kids and teenagers, so that they can start to make important changes in their lifestyle now. If you're a parent reading this for your child, know that you can incorporate these shortcuts into your lifestyle as well towards quick weight loss.

Quick Weight Loss Shortcut #1.

It's great that kids and teenagers have so many opportunities around them to lose weight already, but they probably don't notice. The fact that schools have lots of after school activates is crucial to the quick weight loss shortcut #1. It's simple really. Quick weight loss for teenagers or children starts with incorporating some form of moderate activity into their lifestyle. Whether it's team sports at school, jogging, swimming, walking an hour a day, or dancing, I recommend that this be done at least 3 times a week. It's also for kids and teenagers to find a friend to do these activities with. It will make the activity that much easier, as they will be able to hold each other accountable and have fun! Summer vacation is also a large plus for children and teenagers as they can increase the amount of activities that they participate in.

Quick Weight Loss Shortcut #2.

Kids and teenagers should never skip meals. Again, with their fast paced lifestyle it's easy to forget to eat and overcompensate with junk food at during class, in front of the computer or while watching TV.

When a meal is skipped this slows down their metabolism. Metabolism should be kick started early in the morning. It only takes 5 minutes in the morning to eat breakfast! If you're a teenager reading this, don't just shove anything into your mouth, stay away from fast food chains and vending machines at school and opt for fresh fruits and vegetables.

Instead of settling for simple carbohydrates (which you can find in junk foods!), go for complex carbohydrates such as the ones in nuts, brown rice, whole grain cereal, etc. Your energy level besides your metabolism will also be boosted and you will feel great!

Quick Weight Loss Shortcut #3.

This one is so simple for children or teenagers to follow. Drink water. That's it. I recommend at least 6-8 glasses a day. They can carry a water bottle to glass, or go to the water foundation during class and drink while they're sitting in front of the computer or watching TV. When you dehydrate your body your liver will turn its concentration towards water retention instead of attending to other duties such as burning fat. Also when your body is dehydrated your metabolic rate slows down.

So in summary, in order for a teenager or child to achieve quick weight loss they should incorporate a type of activity into their lifestyle, never skip meals, and drink water. That's it! Losing weight doesn't have to be hard. These habits developed in the early years will greatly help them in the years to come.
